One of my favorite Walt Disney World attractions is "Journey into Imagination" at Epcot which first opened in March 1983 and closed in October 1998.The journey begins with the introduction of the Dreamfinder who is floating above the clouds on his "dream catcher" machine. As he collects dreams and ideas to create all kinds of new things, he creates a figment of his imagination, which appears as a cute little purple dragon with an ambitious personality. Together, the Dreamfinder and Figment create all sorts of ideas to fill the idea bag. When the bag is full, the ideas are moved to the Dreamport where they are stored in a special place... a place that's never far away when we use our imagination.
Since it's closing, the attraction has gone through two major renovations and was reconstructed into an experimental Institution in which Dr. Nigel Channing was introduced. The Institution is currently made up of five
different labs based on the human senses... sight, sound, smell, touch and taste.
"One Little Spark" has always been the theme song for Journey into Imagination. The catchy tune was written by brothers, Robert and Richard Sherman and currently performed by Eric Idle and Figment. The lyrics tell how one little spark of inspiration can create a world of imagination.
For every sound, your ears are hearing...
